Meet Them Below
Neil MacMillan
Neil MacMillan has been married to Louise since 1990. They live in Edinburgh, Scotland and have four children. Last year Neil took on the leadership of City to City Europe (CTCE) which works with local leaders to plant gospel centred churches in the cities of Europe. City to City was founded by the late Tim Keller in New York. Currently CTCE is working in around forty-five cities but has a vision to grow this number to 120 cities over the next five years. Over the last thirty-two years Neil has planted three churches with the Free Church of Scotland, the most recent of which is Cornerstone Edinburgh. In Scotland he started and grew a network that has seen over thirty new churches started. He loves to spend time with family, eat good food, run it off, and then read a book!
David Cassidy
David is the Senior Pastor at Spanish River Church in Boca Raton, FL. Born in Illinois and raised in Indiana, David Cassidy grew up in the Lutheran Church under his Christian parents Patrick and Dolores Cassidy. He has been married to his wife Toni since 1980 and they have three children, Sean, Claire, and Anna. Sean and his wife, Jacquelyn, have two children and live in the Nashville area along with Claire and her husband Dean. Anna is twenty-one and attends Florida Atlantic University.
David met Toni in Oxford, England where he was engaged in studies in History and Literature, as well as student mission, beginning in 1979. David served as a church planter in London from 1981 to 1987. David has served churches in Britain, Kentucky, Texas, and Tennessee, sharing the Gospel of Grace with joyful clarity, and prophetic passion, all with a view to reaching non-believers, strengthening the faith of Christians, encouraging the renewal of the Church, and training future leaders for global mission. He has also authored the book Indispensable: The Basics of Christian Belief. He is a graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary and is working on a DMin in the Theological Foundations for Preaching at Knox Seminary.
Al Barth
On January 1, 2022, Al joined the staff of Spanish River Church as the Director of Church Planting. Prior to January 1, he served as the Global Church Planting Catalyst in the cities of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America for Redeemer City to City, a not-for-profit organization connected to Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York. Since 2001, in those four continental regions, he has been working with national leaders to start urban-center churches and trans-denominational church planting networks in leading cities, sub-continental networks, and continent-wide networks. His primary work involves recruiting, consulting, coaching, training, and resourcing church planters and city and regional network leaders. Al is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America, but also serves as a consultant to many denominations and church networks helping them to devise strategies for the planting of new churches or the replanting of old churches in global cities.
Prior to his work the past twenty years with City to City, Al had planted four PCA churches, one in Sevierville, TN while serving on the staff of Cedar Springs PCA in Knoxville, two on the west coast of Florida in New Port Richey and Spring Hill and one just outside of NYC in Oyster Bay, NY.
Michael Keller
Michael has been a part of Redeemer life and ministry from its inception in 1989; and with his wife Sara and daughters Lucy and Kate, they started Redeemer Lincoln Square in April 2017. He went to NYC public school for both elementary and middle school and attended Vanderbilt University for his undergraduate work. After working at London City Mission and New Life Fellowship in Queens, he attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, receiving both an M.Div and a Th.M in Apologetics magna cum laude. He served as Pastor of Community Life at Citylife Presbyterian Church in Boston before returning to the city to start a new Reformed University Fellowship. His Ph.D. is from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Computational Linguistics applied to Historical Theology. Sara is a Nurse Practitioner.
Daniel Yang
Daniel Yang serves as the Senior Director of Global Mission and Church Movements at World Relief. Prior to that, he was the Director of the Church Multiplication Institute at the Wheaton College Billy Graham Center. Daniel has been a pastor, church planter, engineer and technology consultant. He has planted churches in Detroit, Dallas, Toronto, and Chicago, either as the lead planter or through recruiting, training, assessing, and mentoring church planters. Daniel is a sought-after conference speaker, missional strategist, consultant, and co-author of Inalienable: How Marginalized Kingdom Voices Can Help Save the American Church (InterVarsity, May 2022) and Becoming a Future-Ready Church: 8 Shifts to Encourage and Empower the Next Generation of Leaders (Zondervan, October 2024).
Yvonne Sawyer
Yvonne moved to Miami from New York City 26 years ago when she married Rev. Rick Sawyer. He lived in Miami as a single dad with his five children, who ranged in age from 2-17. In her years in NYC, Yvonne founded a non-profit called Hope for New York — so she and Rick began to think about how they could merge not only their family life but their talents and experience as well for the benefit of Miami. Her skill set included non-profit start-ups, volunteer recruitment, fund-raising, and some experience managing social service programs. Rick knew Miami, had a lot of contacts, and spoke Spanish. While the initial stage was for Yvonne to get used to the 3Ms (Marriage, Motherhood, and Miami) – within a few months, they worked on the legal incorporation of the non-profit, which was initially known as “Family and Children Faith Coalition.” (FCFC). Their initial effort was to offer workshops and gatherings for faith-based leaders who wanted to learn how to serve the community better or more efficiently. Out of those relationships, when the newly-formed Children’s Trust began to collect tax-payer funds for social service programs that would benefit children & youth — they put together a collaboration of eight churches that wanted to offer summer camp programs in their neighborhood. After that initial grant was awarded, FCFC continued to build more relationships and to grow the number of programs offered to the community. In the initial year, their partnership served 800 children- over the 25 years of the organization’s existence, the number of programs is now 10, and the number of children, youth, and families served has exceeded 50,000.
Chris Grandberry
Chris, Mary, Ann Marie, Beth, Morgan, and David Granberry moved to the Yakama Indian Reservation in June 2003, with the desire to love and serve our "first neighbors" well. Connie became a part of the Granberry family in 2010 and still serves with Sacred Road as part-time staff.
Chris, the founder of Sacred Road, was ordained by the Pacific Northwest Presbytery in June 2008. With a background in teaching, coaching, and Youth Ministry, Chris now serves as Team Leader as well as the Assistant Pastor for the Hope Fellowship church plant.
Mary has a degree in Psychology and background in Social Work. She oversees Food Ministry, Hospitality, and Mercy Ministry. She is currently the Administrator for our short-term teams and the Summer Internship applicants.
Andy Thomson
Mayor and CRA Chair, Andy Thomson was first elected to the Boca Raton City Council during a special election in August 2018 and secured re-election unopposed in March 2020. He was elected again in March 2024. He was elected as Mayor in March 2026. He is a product of Boca Raton – his parents met at Florida Atlantic University in 1967.
Mayor Thomson and his wife Joanna met during their first day of class at the University of Miami and have been together ever since. They got married in 2009 and are immensely grateful to raise their five children in Boca Raton. He coaches his kids in football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. The Thomsons attend Spanish River Church, where Andy teaches Sunday school and helps organize the annual Serve The City service initiative.
Bob Orner
Bob has partnered with Gospel Boot Camps as a trainer for over ten years. He received his Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary Orlando.
He presently serves as a Pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He has served as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, helped start church planting networks and continues to serve as a church planting coach. Bob was the Dean of Students and Guest Lecturer of Practical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida for four years.
Bob is passionate about the ministry of the local church and committed to see people discover Christ and grow in grace. He grew up in East Africa where he developed a love and appreciation for cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity. God used these years to build a passion to equip leaders for the global community who are Biblically and theologically grounded, Gospel motivated and culturally intelligent.
He and his wife Chris, a Licensed Professional Counselor, have one adult son.
